UV bulbs

I have a UV Sterilizer from a non-main stream company.  It's a PITA to get replacement parts, so I was wondering if it matters if I replace the bulb with a different brand.  Are they all the same thing, just labeled with different brands?

If it's a standard 5/9/18/36 watt sterilizer you can replace it with any bulb... they're all the same!
