I am looking for an impeller shaft, for my Octupus pump on my Octopus bh-1000. Mine has broke and now my fish are left skimmer-less for the time being.....

I was cleaning the inside of the pump when the white impeller shaft, which is quite fragile, broke in half (which, after some research I found out is ceramic) I've seen pinwheel & needlewheel impellers being sold online, however they say "not sold with shaft or rubber bearings"

Do anyone have a spare OTP 1000 pump for parts?  Do you know where I can find this piece?

Any help appreciated

I may be of no help whatsoever but here is what I have to suggest.

I've broken a few of these ceramic shafts in Fluval canister filters and haven't fixed them yet. I'd speculate that ceramic shafts are used due to the fact they aren't magnetic.

I did a quick google search and found this site http://www.saltyclown.com/1000-pinwheel-impeller-p-103.html

Try two things one is contact the manufacturer on their web site and two, perhaps a stainless steel rod of the same diameter would be a good replacement. http://www.louconmetal.com/lm_html/contact.htm

Are you still using the filters with the broken ceramic shafts?

Upon inspecting the pump it doesn't look like the ceramic shaft moves, it simply holds the magnetic pinwheel impeller in place. I put it together and it looks like it would still operate fine....
I'm thinking about using a dab of reef-safe super glue on the two pieces of the shaft, and once its dries put it all together and run it.

- Does anybody see a problem running it on my tank like this?

 - What could be worse case scenario?
