Help! PH keeps going up!

  Cichlids that are mostly peaceful  are many. Any of the dwarf species such as apistogramma species, rams, Tanganyikan shell dwellers, Kribensis.  Or a tank with Calvus, Julies. Many Aulonocara ( Malawian peacocks) and some of the haps. Geophagus from South America.

There are some basic rules, exceptions, and stocking do's and don't as well that many of the members can guide you with. Any of the above mentioned fishes you will have some aggression but it is mostly posturing.
 Cichlids are highly intelligent fish that make excellent parents, are interesting to watch and have some unusual behaviors and habits. Also for the most part they are very hardy and adaptable.
