Title: Internal overflow/drain box question...
Post by: AttiTude on February 23, 2010, 05:36:04 PM
I just want to know if the size of the box matters?
I'm aware that i have to leave enough space inside for the 90 degree elbow that screw in the bulkhead.
My drain is 1 1/2" in the centre of the tank at about 4"-5" from the top.

I went to MS today as my dad bought his box from them.Unfortunatly, they dont sell them anymore and i was referred to Canus...

Since i'll have to make my own i just wanted to make sure of the size.

Thanks for any help!

This site sells them, and they've got a lot of info you can use to see how big yours should be.

The actual volume of the overflow is irrelevant.. what matters is how much surface area your overflow box has... make sense? ie how much water can actually flow into the box rather then the volume the box can hold.

Mine is in the same location/size as yours with 1.5 drain and is approx. 4''/4''/4'' and I have no problems.
