Post by: new2salt on March 13, 2010, 11:22:20 AM
Looking for input/recommendations

Planning to upgrade lighting from PC to T5.
Plan to purchase 36" 6 X 39w fixture.
Looking for recommendations on T5 bulbs.
White - 3000K, 6000K, 6500K, 10000K
Actinics - Pure Actinic, Aquablue, 11000 Aquablue, 12000 Aquablue Plus, Super Actinic, 420nm, 460nm

I'm sooooo... confused

Looking to keep just about anything - 65G -  24 water depth

HELP  ??? :-\

With all different bulb types...  find a combination that is most pleasing to the eye.  Its pretty much that simple.
I don't think 3000k bulbs are intended for marine aquariums.  They emit a very warm color... which does not complement most corals/fish.

WOW
Great thread, makes you think. Better decide what you plan on putting under the lights, do you want POP, do you want coral growth or a combination.
