are all bow front tanks acrylic or are some of them glass?? I am wanting to drill a 36 gallon that i got but i dont know if it is glass or acrylic?
Too my knowledge all bow fronts are acrylic.
You can tell the difference by trying to make a small scratch in the material, do it in a discreet location. A paper clip will score acrylic, but not leave a mark on glass...

Ciaus
If its a 36 gal bowfront, its probably glass. Aqueon makes a 36 gal bowfront in glass, they sell them at pet smart.
JBJ 24DX Nano
Curved front and round corners
Made of GLASS
They can do wonderful things with glass & curves
Ciaus is right about how to tell - try to scratch it in an inconspicous spot.
Only way to know for sure.

I beg to differ...
You can't put an acrylic tank together with silicone...you must use the proper solvents for acrylic, and they leave no gaps between pieces...they fuse them together.
If your tank is held together with silicone, it
must be glass. The only problem now is telling if it is tempered glass or not, as you can't drill tempered glass.
Ya learn something new everyday....Sorry about the misinformation regarding the material....

Thanks for clearing that up, I was also wondering about that.
