I have a question regarding the water flow...I have two 1" drains and a 1" return flow with a mag 9.5 pump...
Should I reduce the return to 3/4 pipe or leave it as is ...am I going to run into problems...

How high are you pumping the water up?
It would be a good ideal to put a valve on your return line so you can adjust it.

I don't think you would have a problem, not if you have a valve on there. You can always adjust with the value to control flows so you should be good to go.
i kept mine at 1 inch, and my valvse is closed almost halfway, i have the same set up as you

I'm actually setting up the "Bean Animal" with Coast-to coast overflow sytem on my 55 ...I will post the progress and set up when i get a chance.
i am getting into this sump setup myself, I do not have a drilled tank or an overflow box. How do you secure your hose to your tank, so you can keep it in place, I need some ideas on how to set this up, of do I just need to get an overflow box
Why would you want to throttle back your return line? the two 1' drains should be able to easily accommodate the Mag9.5's flow. no?
if anything wouldn't you want to put a valve on one of the drain lines so that 1 will run in complete siphon and the other being the back up (that's how the Bean system works) each drain with opposing 90 degree elbows the one down being the siphon with the valve and the up one being the backup.
u want the turnover rate at like 3x , for optimal effect. so throttling it back sounds right to me. you want a low turn over for many reasons. 1 for the sump to actually do its job. 2m, the skimmer works at its best with lower flow. .. any many other reasons.

I've got a 75 gallon with two overflows.
My sump is actually 2 separate tanks
under the maple cabinet
Overflows empty into a 10 gallon with
only two chambers one holds my recirculating skimmer
from there it's thru baffles right to return pump
The return line is 3 tees, one back to tank
directly, one feeds skimmer and one
feeds refuge, a separate 20 gal. Drilled 2" below the
rim on the end glass with a bulkhead. This in turn drains back to the
skimmer chamber. Each t has a valve to adjust flow.
This way the water thru the refuge takes a few hours
to get back to the tank. 4" aragonite bed and a huge
mix of caulerpa and chaeto.Souds complicated but
I run my skimmer when I think of it just to ease my consience
maybe 48 hours every 2 weeks. Never have a water quality issue.
