Title: Live rock question
Post by: fortunateson on October 01, 2010, 09:21:41 PM
So I used to have a 15 Gallon SW tank about a year ago. I tore it down but kept the live rock in a box. Now I am thinking of setting it up again. Is the live rock still good?

Thanks

It probably would not be 'live' anymore but could probably be used as base rock, I would clean it well before putting it in though

The live rock is now dead rock ;) It is still good in the sense that you can, like Mayon said, use it as base rock and from there, it will once again turn into live rock but until you have it in the tank, with love rock, it will be just that, rock :) Oh, yah, like Malyon said, you will want to make sure it is nice and clean first! You can "bake it" (lots of different ways of doing that) but either way you end up baking it, dont forget to rince it really well!
