Folks,
I wanted to take a moment to point out that OVAS has a new Forum Expert; a title reserved for people who bring a vast amount of knowledge to certain aspects of our hobby.
The first Forum Expert on OVAS was Mr. Albert Thiel, who I am sure everyone will agree brings a vast amount of experience and knowledge in Saltwater to OVAS.
Our second Forum Expert is actually a local person who has been involved with OVAS for quite some time. He has served as the Program Coordinator, Membership Chair, Corporate & Public Relations Chair, Vice President, President and currently as the Past President of OVAS. He was brainchild behind the AquaMania and helping to promote OVAS at the Ottawa Pet Expo. It goes without saying that he is a dedicated member of OVAS and is passionate about the club, it's members and it's continued existence in Ottawa. Many people who have become involved in OVAS learned of the club through meeting him at local fish stores and pretty much anywhere he had a chance to start a conversation with him.
It was my great pleasure to bestow a lifetime membership on him at AquaMania and it is now an even greater pleasure to announce that Errol Choo, aka Charlie, is now the resident OVAS Planted Tank Forum Expert!

Great news! Errol was instrumental in the success I had running a high tech planted 90 gallon setup for a few years before moving forced me to shut it down. He's an invaluable resource for this community.

Agreed! First plants I ever got were from him and it was great chatting in front of his tanks the first time I was over, discussing the basics on getting started etc.! He's been helpful to hobbyists on here forever and the position is well deserved!
I want to thank the Execs. that nominated me & voted on the same in extending the privilege of a lifetime membership of this historical club.
My dedication to OVAS is a way of giving back to the club that played a large part in my continued learning & enjoyment in my hobby of choice.
I also welcome the challenge of helping others to enjoy the same sharing of experience as I did in my formative years when I discovered the club. I have to say the title of expert kind of scares me ,in all my years helping others it was form personal experience I gained from reading, asking questions & picking what I think would work for me, all this to say I try my best to share the fundamentals which will help others make educated decisions in their application.
I thank those of you who extended your kind words in this thread, meeting & making friends is a pleasure.
