Title: Interested in a freshwater planted tank with puffers
Post by: Graham on October 02, 2014, 10:28:00 AM
Hello all. Although I am usually into african cichlids, I have watched a lot of videos regarding planted tanks and have gotten interested in the topic. I also watched a vid by jwhiser1302 where he shows us his puffers in a freshwater planted tank hoping to breed them. My question to you guys is, has anyone else tried this with success? Or does anyone keep freshwater pufferfish currently? Thanks!

I used to have a tank of pea puffers with plants. Puffers didnt seem to eat or nip the plants at all, but other kinds of puffers might. I had a small amazon sword, some money wort and penny wort in the tank. I did notice that they are vey pickey eaters and I had to 'train' them to take flake food. People also say to make them a species only tank, but I had my pea puffers in with oto's and everyone was fine with it.

Good Luck
