Given that the March OVAS meeting has been cancelled, OVAS will host a mini fish show, called a Bowl Show FROM HOME.
We encourage our members to participate!
Fish will be judged based on size, colour, behaviour, and overall appearance.
Our first category is:
Betta (January).
Guppy and Livebearer (February)
Oddball Fish (March) -> Normally striking as unusual, weird or strange in appearance or behavior, these fish are not always easy to categorize as they often belong to unique genus or species that are available in the hobby. Oddballs usually have specialized care requirements as a result. But I'll leave the interpretation up to you, post your photo and we will vote!
The bowl is optional this month, we will accept ALL PHOTOS.
But, I would encourage you to take your photos using a bowl or smaller container; placing it in front of another aquarium or desktop screensaver ;) or, perhaps with a nice black or blue backdrop, play with lighting with a desklamp or window, and take a moment to photograph your fish.
Please do not go out and buy a fish to show, the intention is to display your successful aquatic husbandry for a chance at some prizes from our sponsors.
Please provide common and scientific names of fish
Post your PHOTO of an ODDBALL fish below!
My Leopard Ctenopoma. He loves stalking prey upside down :P
Panda Loach (Yaoshania pachychilus)
Jaguar cichlid, spends most of his time lurking and being bossy
Reminder to submit your photos!
I have a few of these guys in my 40 breeder. Haven't seen them about much.
