Hey everyone,
As you know we recently had an OVAS garage sale where I was fortunate enough to pick up a tropical plant known as elephant ear. I think it is Alocasia macrorrhiza (Odora (Upright)). These babies were in 6 in pots for the 2-3 leaf plants that stood 2 feet tall. I thought Id provide my update (essentially 1 month later). Did anyone else take one of these beauties home?
It looks happy! Glad it is doing well, I was the one selling them.
I believe it is an Odora. The Odora and Macrorrhiza look similar with the main difference being height potential - Odora max out at 4'-6' and Macrorrhiza can hit 12'-15'.
I did buy a Macrorrhiza corm this spring and it has just started to grow. I am hoping it will be a good size come the spring to go out in my pond.
