Title: Aquarium stand - how to protect wood from water spills???
Post by: askelly50 on January 22, 2023, 08:58:18 AM
Hi All,

For me, water changes often Wayfair stand.jpg involve some water getting splashed, spilled on the aquarium stand.  My old Aqueon wood (particle board) stand is 'lumpy' where water seeped under the tank during a leak episode.

So getting a new stand for my new 55g tank (see pic) and want to protect the top from water spills.

Has anyone used a glass sheet (tempered) to protect their furniture?  So the tank would sit on the glass which would protect the stand?   Is this a bad idea?  Or brilliant:)

Opinions, advice?

Many thanks...

You could always just apply some waterproofing sealer like they use on wooden decks to the top.
