evaporating water

hey anyone,

I have a 90G and I'm fairly new to the hobby & I find the biggest pain in the - - - is having to continually top the water up. I do have a RODI unit that I use for water but are there options for auto top up?

What do you guys do?

it's a constant battle.i have a 90g with a full canopy, and it dosen't evaporate as much. i also have a 110g open top and the water evaporates fast. a couple of buckets set a side with water ready to go..

I evaporate 2-4 gallons a day. I use a  3155 Tunze Osmolator. It has worked flawlessly for the past 14 months.

Under the "water level" section, they run about $250.
Several LFS's either stock them or can get them.

I'm using an autotopoff.com kit working well so far float switch kits are fine if you only have a small reservoir. No flood so far !

I can't imagine not using an ato I lasted about 2 weeks doing it manually.

not to mention how much better it is for everything in your tank... as water evaps the salinity goes up so with an ATO you keep teh salinity levels much more stable... stable = happy fish.

I bought a JBJ ATO for $80 used with a aqualifter pump... worked perfectly so far.

I just bought an aquahub. It's a bit DIY (have to put everything together, and do some wiring) but it works well in the end. Plus it was cheap - <$80+a MJ400.

It is super nice to not have to manually top up, and salinity stays the same!

I've been doing it manually for the last 13 months and frankly it's becoming a pain in the (ahem).

i run both my tanks with 2.5 gallon containers with airline tube tied off dripping back in the tank, works and have to fill one every 3 days and they other once a week
