Hi y'all

I am looking for suggestions on the more/most highly reflective substrate available, be it for saltwater or freshwater and where to purchase. I will only be using a small amount perhaps no more than two or three cups in my reef tank so I am not so much concerned with algae issues from silica etc...

Thanks in advance for your help.

mirrors work wonders

I've thought of mirrors but apparently they are harmful when emersed in saltwater. I've also thought of tinfoil aluminum etc.. but everything seems to break down in saltwater and become harmful.

Mylar on the outside bottom and sides(?) of the tank. Hydroponic stores sell this stuff. Several lifetime supply for about $20.

One of the stores in Toronto actually has Styrofoam on the bottom of the tanks, i'm assuming it's attached ot the underside of the tank (not inside as it would float) but when viewing the tank from the front the bottom looks 100% blue it's kinda a neat effect.

What I am trying to accomplish is to reflect light under my sps.

Currently my sps sit at the top of my tank on eggcrate wrapped in window screen. I would like to apply an adhesive to the window screen and then coat it in a highly reflective substrate so that in addition to the light coming from above it would also reflect under the sps. It's similar to the old face tanners that you hold against your neck to give your face a more even tan.

I have aragonite but was looking for something along the lines of crushed quartz or some other reflective reef safe substrate.
