I have an SAE in what I call me "Pleco" tank that spends the daylight hours touring the tank and eating algae off the plant leaves and wood like any well behaved SAE, but when the lights go out it does a headstand in the bubbles. Tonight it has been there for 2 hours... very different. Anyone else see anything like this. ???

Hi Clouxles,

I guess SAE live at fast stream in the wild. Maybe because of the current and oxygen level! Just my $0.02. Not 100% sure!  ;)

Makes sense... when I got up this AM it is still doing the gead stand. Looks funny! :D

When I had a bubble wand on, I would normally find my SAEs there in the morning.  I don't know how they stayed in one place against the glass, but they were just parked there.  I assume they like higher current and O2.

My SAE always stay on top of my big Java Fern facing the spray bar of my filter at night/early morning when he/she sleeps! That's why I made the guess!   ;)

same here, on top of java fern in front of spray bar.
