It's amazing what can live together sometimes - there used to be a goldfish in the piranha tank at the Vancouver aquarium :D Can you post a pic of your whole setup? I'd love to see!

I wouldn't worry about Convicts. But my 5 year old male Midas is 14" long, his body is 8" tall and 4" thick. Another 2 year old male is 13", when he is happy his nuchal hump has a size of tennis ball. So good luck.

and watch for firemouths, when adult, they will protect they territory big time! Lots of mouth to mouth aggression
