I have a large tank that has two leaks at the bottom.  Any advice when fixing the silicone.  I'm thinking I should strip all the silicone and start from scratch is this necessary/advisable?

If you have 2 leaks then the silicone is probably old. Old slicone sealant is non-resilient & tends to peel off. If this is the case, then reseal the entire tank while you are at it.
-thankful for a tankfull-

if you had a really large tank, say 100 gal or so, would it be safe to re-seal to use for fish? or would you just use it for reptiles etc? I've heard conflicting reports on that, how is the silicone different than when it first was siliconed?

:D Thanks for the input and the link.  I think I have all the info I need and I can move forward with confidence.  I was hoping to do it this weekend but I didn't get around to it.  I will let you know how it all turns out, hopefully by the end of the week.

Thanks again.
