I've seen many strange things in the African World but green eggs, gree yok is a first. These are two day old J. transcriptus still holding on the substrate. (The eggs were laid on the underside of a rock which is propted up by the shell.
In your experience in the hobby, is there any other fish laying green eggs or any other funky colors?

Is this normal colouration for a transcriptus? First time I've heard of this.
I know that some of the botia family and the members of the loach family IE the kuhli, lay green eggs. Since the eggs are laid in the plants, it is camouflage against predation.

Interesting

Perhaps it is a sign of environmental conditions, you are a bit of a humourous fellow, a card even, so if you were reading Dr. Suess aloud near the spawning fish for your grandchildren, you had a case of Green eggs and Ham, you being the ham of course.

Sorry pegasus, just couldn't help myself. :D

It is interesting though, it should be telling to see what the fry colour up as once they're growing out.

Sorry Babblefish, my wife beat you to it.
Woody, it was the first time I ever saw the eggs.
