can goldfish be in the same aquarium as mollies and other fish?

Not really they prefer much cooler water.

I have 4 goldfish and I keep them just with other goldfish.  The fancies prefer warmer water.  I keep my tank between 75 and 78F.
Goldfish need a minimum 10gallons per fish (fancies - commons I believe need more) so they take up a lot of tank resources and cause nitrates to get higher than they would in just a small tetra tank.  Also I only add salt to their tank for treatment reasons.

I've gotten a lot of help on my goldfish from thegab.org - goldfish and aquarium board.  Goldfish are my favourite fish - not a lot of people here have them and not a lot of the LFS seem to know them either.  I seek out resources that have goldfish themselves.

Ditto what was posted above.

Check out http://www.kokosgoldfish.invisionzone.com/forum/index.php it's a really great resource for goldfish!

I made the mistake of keeping comets with tetras. It wasn't good.
