i was wonder something..

I'm planing on buying a new Fluval 304 for my 65 gal tank..

and was wondering can i hook it up to my 75gal planted tank? and move the Fluval 404 to the 65gal which will be overstocked lol.. aswell as a powerhead 402 with filter that has been running in 75 gal and is nice and dirty lol..

would that work?

and would the planted tank be ok with new filter?

BigDaddy

Okay, Marx, I'm confused... is the 304 for the 65 or the 75.

Cycling a new tank is easy if you have a cycled tank.

Just take some of the filter media out of your 404 and put it in your 304.  It won't completely cycle the tank, but it will give it a very hefty jump start.

well i was just going to move the 404 to the 65 cause the bioload in 75 is not bad.. and just add the 303 to the 75 instead..

the 65 won't be planted.. and the 75 is heavy planted..

Marx : Sounds like a good plan   8)
Remember to add your fish soon after moving the filters. You need the waste matter to keep the bacteria alive  :)
