One of my yellow labs is holding (again) I have only grown out two fry from any of her batches.I'm not sure if she swallows prematurely most of the time or they are eaten before I awaken in the morning. I don't have the patients to attempt puting her in a growout tank every time she is holding. What would your ideas be to strenghen the survival rate in my show tank? I was thinking of flooding my tank with plants (probably fake) to provide more hiding spots for the lil guys until they grow up.
I also have the same issues with an OB Zebra that is holding in the same tank.
Alternatively if anyone has an "easy" way of catching the mommy's please advise.

In my show tank, I'll use a pile of flat rocks for the fry, and I'll make a hard access cave for the holding female.  In another tank, I've use plastic plants under pile of flat rocks. The survival rate in that tank was very close to 100% survival. This technique is only good for about 4 months...... when the juveniles will chase the next new brood from underneath.

You could put her in a separate tank and when she spits remove her from it thats what I do..or if she doesnt spit I hold open her mouth let them swim out and put her in another tank the fry stay in a separate tank together no problems about them getting eaten or anything else!!
