I got some crypts a while back and was told that they would "melt" because they don't like changes in water. They were OK in my 55 gallon but now that I have transferred them to my 75 gallon they are "melting". After a bit of research I have found out that his is Cyrptocoryne disease. My question is how long does this last and how long will it take for them to come back? It is making an awful mess in my tank. Should I do anything? like cut them right down?

the roots remain strong and will regrow leaves compatible with the new water.  let them melt back and remove the whitened leaves

Crypt melt is quite common.  Even transplanting a crypt in the same tank will cause melt.

I usually just wait until the "melting" leaves detach themselves...
