I have this plastic mesh, like the type you use on a screen door... can I use that to cover a mushroom tray?

Is there any way to tell if it's going to be toxic? It's not painted, but it's black plastic.

It doesn't smell or taste like anything.

Did you actually taste it?  :D

Steve_2

I was gonna ask the same thing. lol

Oh, and I forgot to mention. I use the plastic mesh that fruits and vegetables often come in. Like when you buy a small tub of Kiwis, the tub is usually covered by a plastic mesh. Works well for me 8)

Yeah I chewed on it a little... no taste  :P

Well, the thing is, is that I'm leaving tomorrow for Calgary for a week. I want to set them up tonight if possible, and all I have on hand is that plastic mesh.   I can always let them float around until next week but I was really hoping to put them in a tray tonight.

if you have lots of LR, don't let them float.  guaranteed they end up in some corner crevice and you'll never see them again!  lol  I have a few shrooms lodged in useless places.   ::)  mine are in a cup without mess in a low flow area, they're staying put.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.  So love the people who treat you right.  Forget about the one's who don't.  Believe everything happens for a reason.  If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.  If it changes your life, let it.  Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.
