I am not sure if it is my poor eyes, or if I have a poor kit but I find it very difficult to interpret my Nitrate test results.

I have a Hagen Nitrate Test kit, http://www.hagen.com/canada/english/aquatic/product.cfm?CAT=1&SUBCAT=124&PROD_ID=01078450010101

I am not a fan of the triple bottle either.

What Nitrate kits do people use and reccomend?  I am willing to live w/ 3 bottles if it provides the best results, but if 1 will do I am all over that!

Patience once more, it is fiddly, but it usually works well enough, the trick to reading the results is the white card background when looking at the test tube, and of course, a fairly bright white light, practice will help, and as you are cycling a tank, you can practice a lot. By the end of a month, you should have developed an eye for what you are looking at in the glass.
