mop making

So, I have this bag of yarn and some little styrofoam balls which I got from the diva of mop construction, PFG, and I'm wondering how exactly do I make a mop out of this?  Is it like making a tassel? Am I supposed to do anything to the yarn before I put it in the tank, do I boil it or something, or just plunk it in there?

I think in one of the recent newsletters the PFG wrote a great article about how she does it . . .
