is there any way to help my shrimp larva from getting eaten or skimmed out of my tank?

Short ansewer, not really.  I'm assuming you have peppermint shrimp? The larval stage requires a ~40 day pelagic period prior to settlement.  So your challenge would be keeping the shrimp in suspension for that time period.  Not really practical in the tank considering all the perils.  People who culture shrimp transfer them to a container with a bubbler to keep them in suspension and feed them BBS.
