I recently noticed that when my lights are off, hundreds upon hundreds of tiny white snails, perhaps 2mm wide each, coat the live rock all over the place.  It has had no ill effect on my tank, but I'm just curious.  Did I aquire these as some kind of hitchhicker, or could they actually have spawned from some of my other snails?  I have plenty of species of snail in there, and my margaritas are frequently releasing their gamete into the water.

Cheers.

I have that as well, been that way for months, cept on the glass and the rocks. I have concluded my are trochus babies as trochus are all I had for a long time and everytime they released thier goo into the water, these things would multiply a couple weeks later. Not to mention, a few of them have actually survived and grown large enough for me to know what they were.
