I don't have green water but I've seen a few posts about it and I had an idea. Unfortunately, my ideas are not always good so I figured I would run this by the experts and see what they think.

I've seen this type of vegetation that is really small, has two little leaves and floats at the surface (BA Innes seems to have some in quite a few tanks). Wouldn't that stuff work to starve algae by taking the nutrients and providing some shade. When the conditions return to normal, you could scoop it out. ???

I didn't know what it was called so I looked up duckweed and it seems to be what I mean.

Duckweed isn't really an effective nutrient sponge.  It's okay, but there are other much faster growing plants you could use for that purpose that you might want to leave in the tank after the GW is gone
