My fiance is making me a filter for my pond using a rubbermaid tub.  What glues are safe to use that will stick some of the parts to the container?  Someone told me that no glue sticks to rubbermaid containers...silicone definitely doesn't.

"Amazing Goop" will stick!  I swear that stuff would almost stick to butter.

From my experience it needs a good 4 days to cure before you want to get it wet.  Once it does get wet, it hazes white (sort of translucent) but it doesn't seem to lose any strength.  Goes on like silicone but a bit thicker, and you need to try to apply it to horizontal surfaces as it does flow a bit...but that's never been a problem for me.

I get mine at Rona, but Home Depot probably also has it.  There are a number of kinds, and I buy the Plumbing one.  From what I've been told, they're all likely the same stuff in different packages to make people feel better about the multi-use nature of the stuff.
