Rio Powerhead

Hello everyone, I have a Rio powerhead running my skimmer and it's not producing the same output as it did when I purchased it.   It's about a year old if I remember correctly.  Any ideas?

ok, stupid question but... did you clean it in that year?

I've heard the Rio powerheads are terrible designs, especially for use with skimmers (hard to clean and break easier, or something).  Supposedly the MaxiJet 1200 is a LOT better.  I confess, though, that I don't know all that much about skimmers, but I did read several reviews for a couple skimmers that urged everyone not to get the Rio powerhead, due to what you've discovered.
