Do blue and gold gouramis breed?

I have a tank of mostly gouramis, and the other day i started to notice one of my blue gourami and one of my gold gourami doing "the dance" together.  I have since noticed this a couple times, for long periods at a time.  Is it normal for 2 different fish of the same species to breed?  If that is infact what they are doing as the do the dance...?

Blue and gold gouramis are the same specie, just a different colour morph. They can breed together.
