Thanks everyone for hanging in there.

Not every day that I get to cram (Bruce's word ;-)) so much information and entertainment into less than an hour presentation and get to teach a fishy chant as well LOL.

For those who weren't counting, the Powerpoint presentation had 119 slides and only 20 of those were text only. Which means of course that you saw a lot of photographs.  Most of them and a couple of thousand more are on-line at my Flickr account so you can see them again there at a more leisurely pace if you really want to: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rjhayphotography/.

The unpacked Powerpoint file size with all of the photos that it contained came to a whopping 330,531KB so I don't think that I will be putting it on the OVAS website for downloading. Thanks Sean and Erol for the help getting the tech aspects going so smoothly. When I have time (HA! HA!) I'll try to put together a simplified version without photos for the OVAS site but please don't hold your breath.

P.S. I don't do weddings!

I also wish to extend my thanks for such a great presentation Ron!  Having done a stint in my younger days as a professional photographer, you made me miss the old days of SLR and manual photography!  ;D  Oh, and I didn't do weddings either!

Now if I can ony figure out how to use my digital camera, I *should* be able to take some good shots of the fishes! ;)

what was the url for the nikon lens site?

I know Ron mentioned http://www.dpreview.com/ (The site I often use) and another site for people to lok at in one slide.  Might be good to have that posed somewhere ;)

Bjorn has lots of Nikon and general info on his website at:
http://www.naturfotograf.com/index2.html

There are plenty of on-line camera review sites but the two that I refer to most often are:
http://www.dpreview.com./
and
http://www.steves-digicams.com/

For those wondering about tripods, the following article is geared toward the serious amateur to professional level but well worth the read:

Sun's shining today.  Have to get out and take some more photographs before the weekend of rain arrives!

One other thing that I mentioned briefly was the Rule of Thirds with respect to composing the shot.  Not really applicable to the one-fish-in-focus-right-in-the-middle-of-the-frame type of shot but very useful and easy to read info about the Rule of Thirds can be found at this Wikipedia page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds

Thanks Ron! now I need a macro lens for my d40x to get some better shots the 18-55 DX kit lens just does not cut it as its f3.5 and I only have about 55 Watts of light on my 195 lol.

Someone at the presentation asked about very wide angle tank shots.  Did a bit of experimentation today. My results are posted here:
