Ok, so i'm turing in for the night.  I check my tank one last time, you know, kiss the fish goodnight and all that jazz... anyhow.. this thing, pictured below, is crawling on my pump...  Which i shut-off for the photo so the gramma parked in it... lol.

Anyhow, my "guess" here is that a snail got yanked from his shell and didn't die... Looks kinda like a shell is forming again...

Thoughts, ideas, experiences, amusing anecdotes?

Tsukiyomi-sakura

Not sure what it is but I'll tell you this, 20-30 mins after you turn the lights out take a flash light and look at your tank... ;) ;)

Funkmotor

It's a Stomatella.  Probably Stomatella Varia.

Perfectly harmless.  Actually good.  My tank has loads of them in there.

One more thing.  When you see one next, touch it...just a little poke.  You'll be surprised how fast they can move!

fishdaddy

i was just about to say the same thing.i have them in my tanks too

Hookup

Cool, thanks.. freaky looking slug thing...

redbelly

If you pick them up they will also drop their "tail"
The back end will sit there and wiggle while the front gets away.

I used to feed the tails to my triggers :)

Hookup

Pat, that is very morbid... lol.   Now who has a hungry trigger? :P

redbelly

Oh thats right, you asked for a amusing anecdote not a morbid one...
Well either way the triggers like them  ;D
