After using peat moss in my blackwater generator could it still be used in a garden? I filter clean water through it for several weeks. Only thing I think that is removed is some of the tannins. I guess garden would not be as acidic. It was still lowering the pH but not as much so I changed some out.

Just wondering b/c would give the used peat to some one for their garden instead of wasting it.

My wife (the horticulturalist) says it will be fine.

I don't see a problem with it either. Nice way to compost peat moss instead of sending it to landfill. Garden plants will also surely benefit from degrading matter.
