Hi,

recently got a LTA.  I really like it to be on the rock but when I took it out of the bag, it just won't stick to the rock and with the water current, it keeps floating.  It landed on the sand today and when it checked this morning, the bottom isn't attached to the sand or the rock.  Are there any advice you can give me to secure it or help it attached to a place that I like to see it ... cause I don't want it to find a resting place at the back of the aquarium that I can see it.

Thx,

Lex

There is a good chance it may end up where you don't want it...they decide on their own.  :)  LTAs like to live in the sand not the rocks though, possibly with it's foot under a rock, but in the sand.  Maybe find a nice deep spot of sand right beside a rock (try putting a few more rocks around it so it feels secure in it's sand hole) in the front where you want it and turn off some of the powerheads for a bit?  Just to let it settle.  I'm no expert with LTAs but it might work.  *shrug*

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.  So love the people who treat you right.  Forget about the one's who don't.  Believe everything happens for a reason.  If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.  If it changes your life, let it.  Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

if you want somthin that will stay on rocks you will want a different anenome LTA's like the substrate and gentle flow, BTA's flower's and such like rocks but all anenome's will walk till they find a place that they like... and even then if your lighting changes, or perameters change they will move again.

Thanks for your input ... I also saw on some youtube video and I'm thinking about trying it out tonight if my anemone is still sitting side way.  In some youtube video, they put the anemone inside a clay pot to hold the mental.  And then you can put the clay pot anywhere.  But I'm not too sure whether this is a good idea or not ... any idea?

...don't know doesn't sound like the anenome pending on type would be the happiest.

as pat said lta's like sand....you're not gonna get it to attach to rocks and regardless if you put it in a pot....its gonna go where it wants...

Vincenzo.

why use clay pot when you can cut a 2L bottle in half?

All my LTA's went where they wanted. All of them(total of 3) ended up in the substrate, foot through the substrate and attached to the bottom pane of glass. They all went where the flow was very gentle, just enough to very slowly wave their tenticles. They all butted up against something either a rock or in a corner. Good luck finding a mutally pleasing location!! :D

Thanks for everyone who replied.  I took your suggestion and I dig up a valley at the front corner of the aquarium with low current and so far, it seems to be settling and it is no longer sitting side way.  hopefully now that I helped it halfway, it can find its footing to the bottom of the aquarium.  It seems healthy as it is taking small pieces of krill if I put it right into the mouth.  If I put it on the tentacle, it doesn't seem to want to feed itself ... I got a lazy one  :)

My anemone has decided to stay at the corner of the aquarium.  It seems that digging a hole where I want it does not work as it can move.
