Hello,
Thanks for the info on Ich verses fungus.  Unfortunately, it's Ich.
So, I added the recommended dose of Ich medication to my fully planted tank.  Since doing this, I found some info on the net that suggested never to use ich in a tank with plants.
Should I put the carbon filter back in, and do a large water change? Has anyone done this before?  What happened?
Thanks,

valiko

I think it all depends what is the medication component.

I have treated the planted tank with RidIch+, which has malachite green and formalin.

Anubias

Concerning ich treatment -I prefer Maracide because it does not appear to harm plants. I combine it with a temperature increase to at least 30 C for 10 to 12 days. Most fish and almost all plants can stand this. I would also aerate. Some people consider Maracide a "dirty" medication.

You can go with just the temperature increase. It works fine.

Regards,
