Emperor 240

Hey i just got a emperor 240 an i dontknwo how the thing runs
i put the water in to prime it an then turn it on an it starts to work an then the water sqirts on the wheel an all but it dosnt suck up water from the tank am i doing somthing wrong  

help me

insure the intake tube is below the level of the priming level . fill the filter with more water

I will double check that the intake is in tight an i have primed it already till it overflowed

what does the littel lever in the back behind the intake do

That controls the water flow ... slow vs fast ... I used to have an Emperor but I can't remember which position is which.  Check your manual, it'll tell you.
