Question for future aquarium breeding

Hmmm... Isn't it odd  that I started into the larger aquarium because my 3-year old is interested in fish, and now I'm "taking coltrol" of it?

I'm nowhere near this stage yet (waiting for the plants to all establish themselves, and want to add more fish to the community), but I've had a thought running through my head.

Was wondering if this has been discussed in the past or not (If so, I apologize; I couldn't find anything in the searches). When conditions are right, and the fish start to breed, after a few spawnings, inbreeding must be occurring. When I'm at that stage, is there a practice today amongst this fine group that will trade like fish (i.e. 1 would trade 10 female young from species X with 10 females of the same species from someone else) in order to introduce fresh genetic stock to the aquarium?

It seems this is quite common, yes.  A lot of stores will do trades, as well as many on here.  Just post what you have and what you're looking for in the classifieds and I'm sure you'll have no trouble.
