Plants For Betta Tanks

Now that Tangerine OrangeFish is home safe and sound, what live plants can I put in his little 1 gallon tank? Would I be better off getting silk plants for him? I know they like shallow waters with lots of hiding places.. He's got the water.. now I need the hiding places..

I would go for a live plant especially in a small tank - it may help with the water quality.

Mine liked sitting in plants, and lurking in long roots. Since you probably are relying on ambient lighting from the room, I would go for najas grass or something that is low light like java fern tied to wood.
