Soda Lime C02 Scrubbers for protein skimmers????

Looks like i'm battling a bit of a low ph issue, which i'm trying to compensate by raising my ALK.... just found a very interesting product the C02 scrubber... anybody have any first hand experience with it?

Basically it's an air filter that precedes the air intake to the skimmer, the media (Soda Lime) inside basically absorbs the C02 and creates a more oxygenated supply to the skimmer and therefore less C02 in the water and a higher pH.

I live in a condo in the city so i'm pretty sure my air isn't the best, anyone with experience on what this may do to a 7.7-8.0 ph swing ?? thanks!
