Hey all,

I want to do what the person in this link did:
http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/diy/138047-spray-bar-my-fluval-305-a.html

However, for the life of me I can't find 1/4" PVC (I am assuming it has to be be 1/4" ID).  I have checked Lowes and Home Depot so far.  Would anyone have suggestions on where I can find PVC that small locally?

Why not just use 1/2"?  It will work as well.

Big Al's sells clear acrylic tubing in that size and others close to it.

Also try calling Canus plastics they sell lots of different stuff. They moved up by Conroy & Wakley now though - use to be on Copper St off Bank.

As mentioned in the thread you posted, that pipe is CPVC not PVC. It was used for a while as a replacement for copper in plumbing systems before poly-butyl and eventually Pex came along. Still available in places like CTC. As JetJumper noted, and I agree, I try not to get too caught up in the materials used - it's the concept that counts. There are all kinds of plumbing products available at CTC, HD, Lowes etc., that will get this done for you if you take the time to explore the aisles. For something like that, I'd be looking at toilet or lavatory supply lines, or maybe even Pex. As always, try to think 'outside the glass box'.

Would the flexibility of Pex be an issue with a spray bar?  I will probably use a couple magnet-suction-cups to hold it in place...

pex is actually pretty stiff a 12 to 18 inch peice would probably have some natural curve to it and you probably wouldn't get that out with suction cups holding it

Definitely true if you buy it in the roll. Many places, HD included, sell it in pre-cut straight lengths, about 10', I think - these have little or no curl. I'm pretty sure I saw shorter pieces available at CTC a while ago too, maybe 4' or so.
