What is the difference between these types of algae growth and how do you distinguish between them? I have some algae growth that looks like hair, thread whatever you want to call it. I cannot capture it with a photo. 12 Gallon, 13 w light, no fertilizer, some snail in the tank.

Thanks

BBA = black brush = looks like small black paintbrushes attached to your rocks, plants.

yellowfever

it has only infected two of the four plants that i have, it doesn't look like a brush more a root, with a long piece with smaller ones growing from it.  The plants still have new growth and are green!

I am a newbie so i need some help
