Starts Saturday, October 1st, and and runs through the Thanksgiving weekend.

I've placed a copy of their poster and more info on my blog (http://www.megapixeltravel.com/2011/10/carleton-universitys-annual-butterfly-show-october-1-10-2011/) as well as links to the five days of butterfly photography from last year in the greenhouses.

Lots of fun but expect long lineups (2 - 3 hours) on the Thanksgiving weekend if the weather is nice so go early rather than late.

Parking is now $2 per day on weekends. Line-ups began to form about 10 AM and during the afternoon, the wait time was about one hour. A bit cool standing outside but at least it didn't rain. I'll be adding another blog entry later today with some of today's photos. First day photos now here: http://www.megapixeltravel.com/2011/10/day-1-carleton-universitys-annual-butterfly-show-october-1-10-2011/

If anyone happens to have a 65 gallon or 90 gallon aquarium that they would like to donate, let me know. Doesn't need to hold water.

I would like to try to modify a tank of that size to serve as a display case to donate to the Biology Department for one of the moth exhibits at the University. I can pick it up in the City or within a short distance.
