What makes me chuckle even more is that I'm almost certain that 'truck' is a VW -- my VW GTI has very similar dials and the exact same blue icon for high-beams... So when I drove home last night, I kept looking at my dashboard and laughed every single time

Dials like that are pretty common, and the icon is just about universal (not necessarily placement though).  2004 Chevy Silverados had nearly the same set-up.
