Found a 2 inch worm looking thing in my 55g planted shrimp tank

anyone know what it is, if it is good or bad ...

Not helpful, but your post just gave me the shivers.....

It does not look like a planaria, which is good since a 2 inch planaria would wreak havoc on a shrimp tank.

That's odd - could it be an actual regular earthworm? Have you added new plants recently, or are you wintering over outdoor plants above the tank and one fell in?

They can last a while in water, and I believe many plants are grown not submerged (I can't rememeber the right word for this) so perhaps may have some worms in the substrate.

have not added any plants in a bit, except for a couple tranfers from the main tank.  They where not doing good in the 90g because of the poor lighting.

The worm was found the corner of the tank partialy sticking its head out of the crushed coral/shrimp substrate I have in the tank.  I took it out with a net not wanting to touch it in case it was some king of leach or something.  Then when removed I flushed it.

the 90g does have florite so its night have come from that.  just an idea
