The smaller species tend to hide more and are often more aggressive among themselves, territorial, pitbulls a bit like the kribs. Bigger fish leaves them alone.

in a tnak that size I would only recommend shellies like Brevis or Ocellatus, something of that sort!

In a large tank I would say Tropheus all the way!!!  8)

No fish "Needs" particular light, for the most part it is just asthetically pleasing to humans when viewing them.

That all depends on the colour spectra you want to cover, what colour of light you want, how bright you want etc etc... :)
