 Hello OVAS!

I'm new to the Ottawa valley, having just moved to Perth with my fiancé.

I have been an aquarium geek for about 20 years and I have a 40 breeder SPS reef as well aa 72 bow front planted FW.  I've been doing reefs since 1996 and planted since 2005.

My name is Chris, and I have a b.sc in marine and freshwater biology from the university of Guelph.  We just moved up here from Toronto (please don't hate me, I hate Toronto too...that's why were here).

Looking forward to trading frags and ideas with all of you!

We moved so theyre still somewhat faded and many colonies broke but here we go...  I suppose it's more of an lps/sps mix with a small number of softies.  This is from 11 days ago.

I don't have any recent pics of my planted tank.

Thank you!

Light is AI sol blue @ 30/80/80 plus 2x39w hot5 with Fiji purple and actinic.

Automated with an RKL.  Kalk  and calcium reactor for cal/alk control.  Kalk comes from an aquamedic stirrer, calcium reactor is a small model made by AquaMaxx. Controlled fan and heater for temp control(RKL).  Cal reactor internal ph is controlled by an older milwaukee controller.  Vortech mp10 for waves and flow.  Mag drive 5 for return (soon to be replaced by a sicce syncra 3.5).

The skimmer is a vertex in100.  Chaetomorpha is grown in sump under a 10w eBay 6500k LED spotlight.

Food for corals is reef Roids, brine and mysis.  Fish get brine, mysis but mostly NLS flake.  The fish mostly get fed by an eheim auto feeder.

Plumbing wise, the system is made silent by a herbie overflow system.

The tank is rimless and star fire.  Approx 90cm x 45cm x 45cm.  The sump is a Rubbermaid storage bin.

Backup system is a single battery powered air pump which senses when power to it has ceased.

Salt is instant ocean regular, for the past 12 years ;). The current setup was transferred from a jbj nano 28g 2 months ago, and that tank had been running for 18 months maybe... So this is about a 2 yr old setup.
