Thanks to Rah who gave me some of his clippings, but since I've had them, one of the items he gave have died off while the others aren't looking too good.. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.... I know i have been looking for a new light, but unsure if that is the required fix??

I am currently dosing EI in an approximate 22G tank using the 10-20G suggestion, I also have 67000K light with pressurized CO2 (thanks Errol) @ approximately 2bps.

Photo 1: My amazon swords with holes forming in the leaves.
Photo 2: Same as photo 1.
Photo 3: Unsure of the plant type, but all the leaves have fallen off the stem..
Photo 4: Ambulia is bright green in the new stuff, but black is starting to form all over the old growth (diatoms?).
Photo 5: Looks to be black beard algae or diatom? Any help to remove this stuff?

Unseen: My blyxa japonica is also a little black and seems to be losing it's leaves ever so often.

Update: Added photos.

Hey Andrew, pinholes in leaves is a good sign of potassium defficiency. What are you dosing and how often?

+/- 1/8 tsp KN03 (N) 3x a week
+/- 1/32 tsp KH2P04 (P) 3x a week
+/- 1/32 tsp (2ml) Trace Elements 3x a week
50% weekly water change

When you say you dose trace elements, what product are you dosing?

Androo, i have a sneaky suspension your weak point is CO2.
How are you measuring your CO2 & How are you diffusing it?

I am using CSM+B.

I am currently using the drop check method with Kh and pH to test the level, which I just tested today at 5 deg Kh and 6.8 pH. I am using a glass diffuser below a powerhead.

Slowly( a few days) try getting your PH down to around 6.4-6.2 with the 5 DKH you have, and observe if you see a difference for a couple of weeks, tweak C02 alone for now - of course as always make sure you have time to observe the critters while slowly tweaking the CO2.

Andrew, in addition to what Errol is suggesting, I'd also suggest uping the ferts slightly since you have a 22g but you're dosing for a 10-20g. Pinholes in leaves are a sign of potassium defficiency and it wouldn't hurt your tank any by increasing the K you put in, especially since you're doing 50% wc's too. Check out the deficiencies under potassium in this link...http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/deficiencies.htm

I don`t think Potassium is the issue here, with the dosing he is doing there should be enough Potassium from the KN03 & KH2P04 .
While pin holes is a symptom of Potassium deficiency, it can also be a symptom of CO2, CO2 is the hardest thing to saturate & measure.

Thanks boys for all your help, I actually have a hard time reading the Kh, but I am pretty sure it was 5.

I've upped my CO2 a bit more, so we'll see what happens over the next couple of days.

As for the ferts, I'm dosing a generous amount of what is required (eg. If it asks for 1/32 tap, I usually have about 1/16th).

Again, thanks for your knowledge!
