My kids piranha tank has sprouted these new slimes in it's new location.  How can i take care of this without having to take everything out of the tank and scrubbing it?  are there snails that will take care of it without being eaten by the big guy  or will multiply fast enuff that a few snacks here and there won't hurt the population?

thanx for any input :)

Pictures would help us identify said slime.

But from the sound of it, I would say that is Blue Green Algae / BGA / cyanobacteria. It's usually of a blue-ish green color and will turn brown when starting to die.  It stinks pretty badly, unmistakably foul like a stale pond.

Check your ammonia level. This is one common cause of BGA, paired with low/insufficient flow.

I use a toothbrush to remove it mechanically. It should peel off and come together in one big chunk if you are careful.
